Grace Hopper, session 1
Oct. 8th, 2004 05:42 pmGreetings from Chicago, where I've been attending the Grace Hopper Conference with
janviere,
anenome, and over 800 others. Yesterday and Wednesday the weather was gorgeous, but today it's rainy, just in time for
dag29580863's arrival. This morning at 11 I gave a fairly successful talk to a full (though small) room. Now, on to the rest of the conference. ... (Note: I'll hyperlink this better later.)
Four women - a policy geek at Mozilla, an "open source evangelist" in Sun, a Gnome employee, and a python hacker - talked about open source development and their own experiences in it in the first session on Thursday. ( Here's what they said ... )
Stay tuned for talk summaries on voting machines, women in computing around the world, and the future of technology. ...
