So I appreciate what this article is trying to show, but I don't think that willingness to stop and listen to western classical violin music should be the universal standard for appreciation of beauty. Two of the four people they got quotes from about how good he was played the violin.
I suspect that an anonymous concert by this guy in the best possible conditions would still get a bunch of dumb-sounding comments from people who don't usually listen to classical music.
I also suspect a guitar virtuoso (especially one playing rock music) would get more of a response, and that kids would have responded to anyone playing any kind of music.
